It’s reported Antonio Conte will have a decisive meeting with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in Monte Carlo next week.
The Italy Coach will be out of contract after Euro 2016 and there seem relatively few doubts he will walk away to take over at Stamford Bridge. According to today’s edition of the Daily Telegraph, Conte will have a crunch meeting with Abramovich over the next few days to seal the deal.
It’s expected to be at the One Apple restaurant in Monte Carlo, which is owned by Conte’s brother Daniele. Italian media had suggested Abramovich already told the Chelsea squad that Conte would be their new tactician. Issues up for debate include Conte’s staff, which could include Didier Drogba, and whether John Terry is offered a new contract. The manager has been asked to make the most of their youth academy, encouraged by his role in helping Paul Pogba become a Juventus regular at the age of 19.
