ARSENE WENGER has left the door open to the possibility of becoming the next England manager.
Arsene Wenger admits he could take over as England boss
The FA are set to approach Arsenal once more with an offer to become England’s next permanent manager, after Sam Allardyce was forced out of the job on Tuesday night after just 67 days in charge.
The FA were keen to move for the Frenchman in the summer after Roy Hodgson resigned following a disastrous European Championships, but Wenger insisted he would not break the final year of his contract with Arsenal.
But with Gareth Southgate appointed to take care of the next four England games as interim manager, Wenger will be free at the end of this season – and Arsenal now look set to face a battle to keep their manager, who is yet to agree to an extension to his deal.
