Deportivo La Coruna have been quietly putting together an impressive run over the last couple of months with the side from Galicia unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions.
Indeed, Depor have suffered only two defeats in the 17 league matches they have played, a figure only matched by leaders Barcelona.
The visitors to the Estadio Riazor on Sunday are a Villarreal side who are much better at home than on the road. The Yellow Submarine have lost three of their last five away games, claiming one victory and one draw during that time, yet despite that, they are marginal favorites with Paddy power offering them at 9/5 (2.80). Depor meanwhile can be backed at 8/5 (2.60) to win while the draw is offered at 21/10 (3.10).
The Galicians have been difficult to overcome this term and have avoided defeat in their matches against the top two sides in the division Barcelona and Atletico Madrid drawing both games 2-2 and 1-1 respectively.
They have also beaten teams around them in the table overcoming the likes of Athletic Bilbao and Celta Vigo and they will feel that they can beat a Villarreal side which does not always travel well.
Depor boast an in-form striker in Lucas Perez who currently shares the title of La Liga’s top-scoring Spaniard with Imanol Agirretexe, and the La Coruna born forward has looked hugely impressive in netting 12 goals so far this season.
His haul has contributed to Depor being the fourth top scorers in the division and at home they have scored in every match since their opening one of the campaign.
