Gary Neville invites fans to first Valencia training session ahead of Lyon clash, 3,000 turn up

One of Gary Neville’s first decisions as Valencia head coach was to invite fans and the media to watch his first training session at the club.
Some three thousand Valancia supporters turned up to watch the formerManchester United and England defender lead his players in training and the club’s social-media department were busy tweeting out videos of the occasion.
The 40-year-old Neville waved to fans at various points during the session and led a vigorous session ahead of his first match in charge – against Lyon in the Champions League.
Neville, who has been appointed as Valencia’s head coach until the end of the season, was joined by brother Phil, who joined the Spanish club as an assistant in July.
Valencia are currently third in Group H with six points – one behind second-placed Gent – while Lyon are rock bottom and cannot qualify for the last 16.
