Brown Ideye produced a superb performance in the Greek Super League by scoring a hat-trick as Olympiakos cruised past Veria 6-1 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium on Sunday.
The 27-year-old opened the scoring for The Legend 25 minutes into the match when he rifled home from the centre of the box into the bottom-right corner past Veria’s Spanish goalkeeper, Jona, from an Tarik Elyounoussi assist.
Two minutes later, Olympiakos were two goals up after Seba headed in yet another assist from Elyounoussi.
Ideye then turned provider four minutes before the break as Elyounoussi expertly shot the ball into the top-left corner to give Olympiakos a three-goal lead.
Olympiakos continued in same high pressing fashion after the restart and it did not take long for them to score the fourth when Luka Milivojevic netted in the 49th minute.
The Greek champions were not done yet and just past the hour in the game, Ideye struck sweetly for his second goal with a right-footed attempt from close range to give Olympiakos a 5-0 lead.
Sixteen minutes to time, Veria pulled one back through Pantelis Kapetangs before Ideye got his hat-trick in the 89th minute to put gloss on the outcome of a one-side encounter.
Ideye’s return in the Greek top-flight gives him a 100 percent shot accuracy in front of goal this season so far.
