A WWE fan favorite will be missing in action for a few months.
U.S Champion John Cena is set to take some time away from the squared circle for what the WWE is calling “personal reasons,” according to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
The exact time frame of his absence is unknown, but after the “Hell in a Cell” event on Oct. 25, the 38-year-old has been removed from the advertising for all events until the Dec. 30 WWE event in Toronto, Ontario.
The Champion’s time away also means he won’t be on the 10-day European tour that will travel to Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Germany. He and crowd favorite Daniel Bryan – who is also set to miss the international trip – will be replaced by Ric Flair and Kane.
Cena will step into a steel cage Saturday at New York’s Madison Square Garden to face arch rival – and World Heavyweight Champion – Seth Rollins.
