Leicester line up PSG, Barcelona and Celtic for summer friendlies

If more proof were needed that Leicester City have earned themselves a seat at football’s top table, this is it: they have a series of money-spinning pre-season friendlies the likes of which most clubs can only dream of.
Claudio Raniero’s Foxes are now hot favourites to claim the Premier League title, and in anticipation of that they have been pencilled in for a string of high-profile matches in a summer tournament called the International Champions Cup.
First up is Celtic on July 23rd at the Scottish club’s cavernous – and legendary – Parkhead ground in Glasgow.
A week later they will be in Los Angeles to take on Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain.
Then a few days later it’s back to Europe, with Leicester playing Barcelona in Stockholm.
Three other Premier League sides – Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham – have also signed up, while the other participants are Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and both Milan sides.
For Leicester, then, this will be real nosebleed territory.
Let’s just hope it all goes a bit more smoothly than last summer did for Jamie Vardy and some of his other Foxes team-mates…
