Barcelona star Lionel Messi could very well be the first and last great footballer from his family. That comes after the Argentine revealed that his son, Thiago, has very little interest in the game that his dad has become arguably the greatest ever player in.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has won all there is to win at club level on numerous occasions, but may come up against his toughest challenge yet in getting his three-year old son to love the beautiful game.
However, the Barcelona striker doesn’t seem too fazed by Thiago’s choices.
In an interview conducted in his homeland, Messi said: “I don’t buy him many balls or force him to play with them because he doesn’t like them that much.”
However, Thiago could still be a future star with the news that Barcelona have a project for the players’ children to play the game in the pipeline.
“Let’s see if he gets hooked that way, it would be a good start,” Messi added.
