The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that a new coach for the Super Eagles will be appointed in August.
The Super Eagles have been without a head coach since the resignation of Sunday Oliseh from the role on February 26.
Chairman of the NFF’s technical committee, Chris Green, says a new coach will be appointed for the Super Eagles before the side’s next competitive fixture against Tanzania in September.
“We are going to have a coach this month. There is no doubt about that.
“Definitely, that will be done plenty of weeks before our (2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying) match against Tanzania,” Green told Nigeria Info FM.
The NFF chief then moved to allay fears that the Super Eagles have lost the fear factor associated with the side in recent years.
“This is a very bad time for any team to meet the Super Eagles.
“When our backs are against the wall, that is when you see the team fighting.
“Tomorrow, when the team starts doing well, people should not be surprised,” he said.
