Orton, Kingston to bring down the house at Clash of Champions

The long-standing feud between WWE champion Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton will be settled once and for all with the title on the line at the Spectrum Centre in Charlotte, North Carolina, the United States at WWE Clash of Champions™ on Monday morning (00.00am South African time).

There was a no contest result the last time the two did battle at SummerSlam in August. This time around, Orton looks determined to walk out of the ring the new champion despite Kingston’s resilience in retaining his title that he won at Wrestlemania35 nearly six months ago.

In the last week on Smackdown, Kingston received a ruthless beatdown from Orton alongside Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder from The Revival. He is out to prove his worth in a decade long rivalry that will have one man walking out a winner.

The Clash of Champions will have all WWE titles on the line across Monday Night Raw, Smackdown and Live 205 brands.

There are nine titles that will be on the line, including the Smackdown Tag Championship battle between The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) and The Revival.

Drew Gullack, the Cruiserweight champion, will face Humberto Carrillo and Lince Dorado in a triple threat match while Charlotte Flair challenges Bayley for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Initially, the King of the Ring contest was set to make its comeback having last taken place in 2015.

The event will now take place on Monday Night Raw next week.

THE OTHER KEY CLASH OF CHAMPIONS MATCH UPS:

Seth Rollins v Brauw Strowman – WWE Universal Championship

The two WWE Raw tag team champions will be in the same corner defending their title against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in an earlier match. Then later, they will be on opposing fences for Rollins’ Universal belt, which may prove to be the breaking point of this partnership.

Becky Lynch v Sasha Banks – WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Is Becky still ‘The Man’? The bigger and badder Banks has been talking smack about her opponent since returning to the ring last month as she aims to prove just why she is the boss of the ring. Becky is out to prove that the hype about her is real, regardless of what her detractors might think.

Shinsuke Nakamura v The Miz – WWE Continental Championship

The Miz has been a Continental champion before and is out to win it again. However, don’t think that the champion Nakamura will easily give in after having destroyed The Miz on Smackdown two weeks ago.

Watch WWE Clash of Champions live on SuperSport 4 at 00.00am (South African time).
