FC Ifeanyiubah striker, Jolly Osas has enthused his side will be comfortable with an eighth finish at the ongoing 2014/15 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The newcomers are 10th on the 20-team top flight on 50 points with two matches on the season’s calendar.
Osas said an outright victory against Nasarawa United and a point at struggling side, Kwara United will secured the side the dreamed eighth finish on the league log.
“Yes, league title and continental ticket are outside our reach right now with two matches to end the ongoing league season.
“However, our realistic target at the moment is to finish the season either on the eighth or ninth position, at least, an emphatic victory on Sunday against Nasarawa United and a point at Kwara United will guarantee us an eighth finish.
“We will feel achieved and comfortable if we realised the new mark as newcomers in the outgoing season.
“We have even performed far better than traditional teams in the top flight with our present placement.
“Eighth position will guarantee us a strong platform to fight for the league crown as well as ticket to the continent in the new season,” said the former Heartland winger to supersport.com.
The Nnewi outfit will welcome to their abode, Gabros International Stadium the Solid Miners, Nasarawa United in Sunday’s match day 37 clash while the next port of call and last match of the season will be at Kwara United in llorin.
