Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be set for a shock move away from Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has played only 106 minutes of football since Jurgen Klopp took over at Liverpool and the German seems to be fed up with striker’s fitness.
Sturridge has been battling numerous injuries this season, as his knee problem kept him sidelined for six weeks, then he suffered a recurrence of hamstring injury away at Newcastle United.
To make it worse, the striker was back in training last week, and Klopp didn’t risk him as he wanted the striker to recover while training intensively, only for him to break down again in training.
Klopp himself expressed his disappointment about Sturridge’s fitness few days ago
“It is how a pre-season can be. Some little things happen and we have to handle this. It is not a row of sessions and we say ‘Now we are here and go…’
“When he is fit, we will pick him, but at this moment because he didn’t have one session with the team he’s not available.
“I will pick him when he is ready, I will not hold him back. Because he didn’t have one session with the team it was not the usual plan for this week.” said Jurgen Klopp.
