Steve Davies struck deep into stoppage time as Rochdale earned a Wembley replay with Spurs after a 2-2 draw in the last 16.
The 30-year-old journeyman netted three minutes into added time to ensure the League One basement side will earn a prestigious replay at Wembley.
Visiting substitute Harry Kane had appeared to have fired home the winner from the spot at Spotland with his 34th goal of the season as Tottenham came from behind to move 2-1 clear in a frantic FA Cup fifth round tie.
Ian Henderson had given the home side the lead at half-time, but goals from Lucas Moura, on his first full appearance, and Kane put Spurs ahead before Davies sent the home supporters into ecstasy.
Question marks will be raised over Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to make 11 changes from the side that came from behind to draw 2-2 with Juventus in midweek and a draw was nothing less than Keith Hill’s brave side deserved over the course of 90 minutes.
The two clubs will now contest a replay at the end of February to determine who will face Swansea or Sheffield Wednesday in the quarter-final.
