A superb performance from Warri Wolves striker Gbolahan Salami inspired his side to a clinical 3-0 win over Sunshine Stars as they moved to second place on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) standings and closed the gap on leaders Enyimba International to three points.
Salami netted all three goals as the Akure Gunners were put to the sword in the clash between the second- and third-placed sides on the standings.
The Super Eagles forward struck unerringly from close range to net the first goal for his side after 42 minutes following good work from Joseph Osadiaye.
Salami was on the money yet again on 53 minutes as he dispatched clinically after unselfish play by captain Goodluck Onamado.

The win lifts Wolves up to second on the NPFL standings with 55 points from 32 games while Sunshine Stars drop one place to third as they remain on 52 points from 32 matches.
