Sensational Raheem Sterling double sees Manchester City top group

Raheem Sterling scored two goals in two minutes as Manchester City staged a stunning second half comeback against Borussia Monchengladbach to top Group D ahead of Juventus.
Only a win would be enough to give City the chance to top a Champions League group for the first time, and David Silva got them off to the perfect start when he arrowed a shot into the top corner.
But Gladbach, unbeaten in all competitions since their defeat by City in September, came into the game fresh off the back of their stunning victory over Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and looked a side brimming with confidence as they scored a fine leveller through Julian Korb, before Raffael tapped in just before half time to give City a mountain to climb.
City toiled for an equaliser and, even with the news that Sevilla had taken the lead against group leaders Juventus filtering through to East Manchester, City struggled to turn chances into goals, with Sterling guilty of missing several big openings.
The England forward, deputising for the injured Sergio Aguero in attack, finally showed the kind of killer instinct that has made the Argentine a hero at City, turning in from close range from gael Clichy’s cross.
With Gladbach on the ropes, Sterling added a fine third, his second, 112 seconds later and substitute Wilfried Bony put the game beyond the Germans with a fourth, four minutes later.
With Sevilla beating last season’s beaten finalists Juventus in Spain, the result, as unlikely as it seemed at half time, sees Pellegrini’s City top a Champions League group for the first time.
