Celebrities have had plenty to say about the beef between Soulja Boy and Chris Brown, a social media feud that has since grown into a celebrity boxing match. And although some of the tension has since died down, Soulja Boy is doing the most to make sure things stay interesting.
After speculation that Soulja wasn’t pleased with the fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr. had stepped up to train him, asserting that he felt the former boxing champion didn’t have his best interests at heart, the rapper has now officially recruited another heavyweight to take over as his coach.
As reported, Soulja Boy has now hired Evander Holyfield to replace Mayweather, stating that he feels as though his first coach had too much on his plate schedule wise. With the reasoning behind Soulja’s latest move, he’s making sure everyone knows he’s taking this fight against Breezy as seriously as possible.
According to TMZ, Holyfield was happy to join #TeamSoulja, with the rapper’s promoter, Wack 100, saying that Soulja himself personally reached out and persuaded Holyfield to get involved.
Considering that Mike Tyson, who has been dedicated to training Brown, also doubles as Holyfield’s own nemesis, the stakes have been swiftly raised across the board.
Even though Soulja’s promoter states that Tyson’s name didn’t initially come up when making the arrangements, it does make for an interesting narrative having the former boxing champions revisit past battles and live vicariously through each musician.
Unfortunately, those still interested in attending or tuning into the boxing match between Chris Brown and Soulja Boy are a bit out of luck. At the time of this report, there is still no official date or venue set.
