Raheem Sterling has given back to his old school by buying 550 FA Cup semi-final tickets for children there.
The Manchester City forward showed his generosity with the gesture by ensuring that the kids could see his side’s semi-final clash with Brighton on Saturday.
Sterling grew up near Wembley Stadium and has enabled the hundreds of children at Ark Elvin Academy to watch him in action.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the 24-year-old shocked staff at the Etihad Stadium when he made the unusual request for 550 tickets.
He will reportedly also lay on transport to make sure the kids have an easy and enjoyable day out.
“Raheem asked for 550 tickets for the game, which he paid for himself. It must have cost a fair bit,” a source told the paper.
“He wanted to do something for the kids from his old school and he is also laying on transport for them.
” It pretty much sums up the kind of guy he is. He hasn’t made a fuss over it and he doesn’t really want attention. It’s just a decent thing to do.”
What a classy gesture.
