Tanzania secures first win in group G

Tanzania secured their first win in group G after piping Chad 1-0 away in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday.

The only goal of the game was scored by Mbwaba Samata in the 30th minute of the encounter.

With the victory, Tanzania are now on four points and third in group G behind leaders Egypt and second placed Nigeria.

Both teams will meet in Dar es Salaam for the reverse fixture and it comes up on Monday 28 March.

In their two earlier games, Tanzania lost 3-0 away to Egypt before holding Nigeria to a 0-0 draw.

On their part, Chad lost 2-0 in their first game of the qualifiers to Nigeria before losing 5-1 to Egypt.
