Wikki Tourists left-back Jonathan Zikiye is optimistic his team can get an away point at Akure-based Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
The Bauchi side will be the guests of Sunshine Stars in a Matchday 12 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Akure Stadium and will look to improve on their away form.
Wikki Tourists dropped points at home on Matchday 11 as they were held to a goalless by Rivers United while Sunshine Stars suffered a 3-1 reversal in Maiduguri against El-Kanemi Warriors.
Zikiye, who just made a return to the Wikki Tourists first team squad after a period of absence believes his side can make up for the points they dropped at home against Rivers United by picking up points at Sunshine Stars.
“It was one of those games that things don’t go your way. Rivers are a good side but we did all we could but we couldn’t break them,” Zikiye told supersport.com on how his team fared in their last game.
“Rivers had a good plan and executed it well. Nobody wants to drop point at home but football is like that sometimes.
“We are in Akure for business. We don’t have a choice but to try and get something out of the game against Sunshine. I believe we can do it.
“I know Sunshine lost their game away in Maiduguri so will be fired up for us. We are determined to get something out of the game and we will do our best to achieve our aim.”
