The management of Glo Premier League side, Warri Wolves have stepped up move to ensure they beat the deadline imposed by the League Management, LMC, for the payment of their players and officials’ salaries.
The LMC on Monday issued a notice of summary jurisdiction to the Seasiders for indebtedness to their players and officials.
The league body therefore mandated the management of the club to pay the players and officials within 60 days or risk losing six points and a further three points for every other 30 days for which the renumeration or entitlement of the players remain unpaid.
Media Officer of the club, Moses Etu hinted that they have put everything in place to ensure they pay the players and beat the deadline set by the LMC.
“We are not happy with the situation and we are working round the clock to ensure the players receive their salaries in the coming days,” Etu said.
“We started doing that before the directive from the LMC, so we will surely beat the deadline.
It would be recalled that the players stayed away from their first training session this week in protest over their unpaid wages.
