Brendan Rodgers may have a new job before long, while the man who replaced him at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, already has his transfer targets lined up.
Villa could hire Rodgers – Aston Villa need to see improvement or they will make a change and The Sun understands that Brendan Rodgers would be that change. The club has grown increasingly impatient with Tim Sherwood and they are giving him two matches to turn things around or face the sack. If things don’t get better, Villa will turn to the former Liverpool manager to take over.
Paper Round’s view – Rodgers has never come off as someone who would enjoy much time away from football. If he can get back into the Premier League, and at a decent club like Aston Villa, it seems like he’d jump at it. The question then becomes, why would Villa sack Sherwood now and hire Rodgers? Whatever you think of Sherwood and Rodgers, few would argue that Sherwood is the better manager so if Villa have a chance to upgrade, they should do it now.
