Heartland defensive midfielder, Julius Ubido has said his side are strong contenders for a continental ticket in the ongoing league season.
The Naze Millionaires are ninth on the top flight on 44 points 11 points behind league leaders and oriental neighbours, Enyimba with eight matches left on the season’s calendar.
Ubido said his teammates have resolved to eke a ticket to Africa no matter how daunting the task may be.
“All hopes are not lost for us to clinch a continental ticket in the ongoing league season.
“We have reasoned together and resolved to create a niche or make something for ourselves this season.
“So it’s quite possible we end up earning a continental ticket with eight matches remaining on the calendar.
“It’s achievable and realistic as impossibility is nothing in football especially for someone who dares.
“Where we are at the moment is not as a result of poor performance, we know we play good football and should be better placed on the log.
“We have done a detailed x-ray on our lows and downs so far in the season and we are of the opinion that we can reshape our fortune and make it more laudable,” said the Nigerian star to supersport.com.
Ubido said his side will hit it big at relegation threatened side, Bayelsa United in Sunday’s match day 31 clash in Oghara.
“We earned a 3-1 win in the first fixture clash in Owerri, right now we want to earn another three points at their expense.
“Bayelsa United are relegation threatened and will come all out to redeem or market themselves with good performance.
“However, we have done our match plan to earn the whole points which will further help us to achieve our target for a continental spot,” said Ubido.
