Olympiacos capture Ideye

Brown Ideye has joined Greek club, Olympiacos from English club, West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal.

Ideye joined West Brom on July 17, 2014 for a then club record fee of £10 million on a three-year deal.

He however failed to hit expected heights and subsequently became surplus to requirement following the arrivals to the club, in the summer of strikers, Rickie Lambert and Salomon Rondon.

Ideye made just 13 starts in the Premier League last season, struggling to make an impact under former WBA manager, Alan Irvine and his successor Tony Pulis.

He was also the subject of transfer interest during the January window, but a move did not materialise.

He has featured just once this season, playing 90 minutes in the Capital One Cup win on penalties over Port Vale.

Olympiacos announced on their official website, www.olympiacos.org that a deal with WBA has been agreed.

Ideye had previously played for Ocean Boys, Sochaux, Dynamo Kyiv and Neuchatel Xamax.

The Nigeria international scored four goals in 24 appearances for West Brom.
